What is Vitamin K? Why should we give to the baby?
Vitamin K1 is a necessary blood clotting vitamin.
It is essential to prevent hemorrhagic disease of the newborn , which is a rare cause of unexpected bleeding disease ( cerebral hemorrhage , digestive ... ) in infants less than 6 months .At what point do we give vitamin K1 ?
All babies receive maternity , birth and in the following two doses of vitamin K1 days.
Then , only children exclusively breastfed continue the vitamin K1, present in insufficient quantities in breast milk.
Infant formulas are fortified with vitamin K sufficient to cover the needs of the baby.How long will it continue supplementation ?

Must be given to breastfed baby a dose of 2 mg of vitamin K1 weekly orally.
Vitamin K1 is in the form of dropping 2mg .
